Landmine Meadows Row – Right Arm

Overview

Landmine Meadows Row is a variation of the landmine row. The landmine row is a compound strength training exercise that primarily targets the muscles of the upper back, including the latissimus dorsi (lats), rhomboids, and trapezius. It also engages the biceps and rear deltoids as secondary muscles. This exercise involves pulling a barbell attached to a landmine device toward your body, mimicking a rowing motion.

Description

Let's get started by setting up the barbell in the landmine attachment, if needed choose an appropriate weight plate with a collar on the end. Position yourself facing perpendicular, so the landmine attachment is on your right side and the bar is resting on the floor in front of you. Hinge at the hips and grab the barbell in your right hand with your arm straight.

This is the starting position.

From here, pull the bar up following the natural curve of the movement until your arm is fully flexed. Then lower it back down to the floor. This is one repetition, now repeat for the desired amount.

If you have limited gripping ability try using the Active Hands Gripping Aids to make this exercise as safe as possible.

Benefits

  • Upper Back Strength: The landmine row targets the muscles of the upper back, helping to build strength in the latissimus dorsi, rhomboids, and trapezius, which are important for posture and overall upper body strength.
  • Improved Posture: By targeting the upper back muscles, the landmine row helps to improve posture, reducing the risk of rounded shoulders and promoting a more upright and confident stance.
  • Balanced Muscle Development: The exercise works unilaterally, meaning one side of the body is worked at a time, which helps in developing balanced strength and muscle symmetry between both sides of the back.
