The Dumbbell Floor Close Grip Press is a variation of the traditional dumbbell bench press, with the key difference being that it is performed lying flat on the floor instead of on a bench. This exercise primarily targets the triceps, the muscles on the back of the upper arms, but it also engages the chest and shoulders to a lesser extent.
Let's start by lying on the floor. Grab your dumbbells, have your arms fully extended above your chest and your palms facing each other.
This is the starting position.
From here, lower one of your hands down so your elbow tucks into your side with a 90 degree bend. Then, bring the weight carefully back up to the starting position. Repeat on the other arm. Once you have done both arms, you have done one repetition, now repeat for the desired amount.
If you have limited gripping ability try using the Active Hands Gripping Aids to make this exercise as safe as possible.
