Dumbbell Incline Bench Tricep Extension

Overview

The dumbbell incline bench tricep extension is a variation of the tricep extension exercise that is performed on an inclined bench. This exercise specifically targets the triceps while engaging the shoulders and stabilizer muscles in the upper body to a lesser extent. The incline bench adds an additional challenge, emphasizing the long head of the triceps and providing a different angle for muscle engagement.

Description

Let's get started by setting up an incline bench press. Then lie on the bench with your feet firmly on the floor. Grab your dumbbells and have them close to your ears with a bent elbow raised upwards.

This is the starting position.

From here, extend the dumbbells by extending at your elbows. Once fully extended start to lower the weights carefully back down to the starting position. This is one repetition, now repeat for the desired amount.

If you have limited gripping ability try using the Active Hands Gripping Aids to make this exercise as safe as possible.

Benefits

  • Targeted Tricep Focus: The exercise specifically targets and isolates the triceps, helping to build strength and size in the back of the upper arms.
  • Enhanced Triceps Definition: Regularly performing this exercise can lead to more defined and toned triceps, contributing to a more sculpted upper arm appearance.
  • Upper Body Variation: The incline bench position adds variety to your tricep workout routine, challenging the long head of the triceps and engaging different muscles than the standard tricep extension.
